Course Information

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who perform a range of activities and functions within the fitness industry.

Individuals with this qualification are competent in providing fitness services including fitness orientation and health screening, fitness instruction, group exercise instruction and gym instruction.

Work is performed in controlled environments such as fitness centres, gyms, aquatic centres, community centres, workplace fitness facilities and outdoor fitness settings. Individuals typically work independently with some level of autonomy in a controlled environment.

Study Plan

Course Duration

This course has a duration of 52 weeks consisting of 4 x 10-week terms of training and assessment, each followed by a 3-week holiday break. Each week of term includes: 2 x 7.5 hour days of face to face instruction + 5 hours of tutorial

Student Support

• ABM assesses student support needs before enrolment via Enrolment and Pre-Enrolment Forms.

• Possible supports include LLN assistance, assistive technology, extra tutorials, and help with online learning tools.

• Additional costs or limitations are communicated before enrolment.

• If ABM cannot provide certain support, students are referred to third-party providers at their own expense.

• If ABM cannot offer a suitable learning environment, it will inform the student and may refer them to another provider instead of enrolling them.
